Sacred Heart University is a coeducational, independent, comprehensive institution of higher learning in the Catholic intellectual tradition whose primary objective is to prepare men and women to live in and make their contributions to the human community. History

John F. Welch College of Business at Sacred Heart University Fairfield, CT (USA)

January 2006, the University's College of Business was named after the legendary former Chairman and CEO of the General Electric Company, John F. Welch. Identified throughout the world of business simply as "Jack," he was associated with GE for an incredible 41 years. Fortune magazine has called him the Manager of the Century, and Business Week dubbed him "one of the greatest innovators of the past 75 years."

As part of his commitment to the University, Mr. Welch has volunteered to be actively involved with the John F. Welch College of Business through ongoing advice and guidance. He will assist the College as it continues its mission of providing students access to a top-quality education and preparation for careers in business. Further, he is providing the largest gift in the University's history to assist students in financial need and to foster faculty development and research.

The Luxembourg branch

Sacred Heart's College of Business has been in Luxembourg for more than two decades offering graduate level programs tailored to the needs of the working individual. Since 2012 we offer a full-time MBA with internship designed for young graduates from abroad. We have students from over thirty different nationalities and our well-qualified faculty and staff give our program a truly an international flavor that so many other business schools cannot offer.

Conveniently located in the Chamber of Commerce Luxembourg-Kirchberg our facilities are dynamic and provides many online learning and research tools. The campus also consists of a library for students to utilize as a quiet place to study or project teams to meet for course work.

The AACSB accreditation and the Grand Ducal Decree

In January 2007, the John F. Welch College of Business has earned the accreditation by the AACSB International - the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. It joins an elite membership of fewer than 10 percent of business schools worldwide. AACSB International is considered the premier global accrediting body for schools that offer undergraduate, master's and doctoral degrees in business and accounting.

In August 2007, Sacred Heart University earned the Grand Ducal Decree which provides now the recognition of the diplomas in Luxembourg.
