The Accelerated Management Programme is a 16-days (spread over 3 months) intensive general management training for professionals with no previous education in management principles who wish to expand their business functional knowledge and develop insights on cross-functional management principles. The programme provides a broad-based, practical introduction to the main concepts and approaches of management, combined with practical insights intended to be immediately applied in the workplace.
Approach
THE ESSENTIALS: Within each module, the faculty will build on fundamental management concepts and approaches providing the participant with a sound basis for understanding everyday corporate challenges and needs.
UP-TO-DATE: A special focus will be given to the most recent trends in each of the six functional areas. This will help maximize the knowledge transfer and familiarise the participant with the latest business buzzwords.
FUTURE ORIENTED: A “skills hub” will be developed throughout the learning to assist the participant with management tools and key resources after the programme (e.g. book and on-line references; cases and articles).
CHALLENGING LEARNING: This programme, like all other Solvay Brussels School programmes, requires work and effort in the classroom and outside. This is even more true considering the tight schedule of the programme (only 16 days). Assignments will require you to work during weekends and evenings. your class will be composed of professionals willing to take this challenge.
Objectives
The programme aims to provide professionals with no management education with the opportunity to:
The programme is open to professionals with limited management experience, and from a wide range of backgrounds. They may be recently appointed managers or employees recognized by their companies as high-potential, and therefore required to upgrade their professional competence with management knowledge and skills.
The programme could also benefit recent and ambitious graduates to whom a training in management would represent a clear point of differentiation on the job market.
Other young professionals wishing to expand their functional knowledge base are also among the targeted audience.
The three-month programme is delivered through 6 core modules of 2 to 3 full days (Friday to Saturday or Thursday-Saturday). Each module is concluded with an assessment.
Teaching and learning are carried out through a varied schedule of lectures, seminars, workshops and exercises. A comprehensive set of lecture notes is provided for each module and discussion of individual applications and problems is encouraged.
Each module is taught by academics and experts in the field.
