TIAS is a fast growing business school in Europe, having expanded almost tenfold over the past ten years. We are the executive education arm of Tilburg University and Eindhoven University of Technology. Tilburg is internationally recognised as having one of the top three economics faculties in Europe, and Eindhoven as a leading European technical university. We offer one of the most comprehensive portfolios of programmes anywhere, focused on executive education for managers and professionals.

Today, TIAS is one of the top business schools in The Netherlands. All of our MBA programmes are internationally ranked and accredited by AMBA. We select only high calibre participants who are looking for a new intellectual challenge and who either wish to specialise further in their careers, or who wish to move into broader management roles, or who simply wish to top up their knowledge.

Our faculty are drawn from across the world and are ,hand-picked based on their experience and success in management education for professionals, and their ability to translate and communicate new knowledge and practice into the classroom.

Our small class sizes allow us to provide you with personal attention and focus from top international faculty, programme managers and dedicated support staff.

TIAS alumni play prominent roles in organisations both within The Netherlands and abroad. Many of our alumni are proud of their association with TIAS and are keen to remain part of the TIAS network. To maintain contact between the school and our alumni, we organise regular alumni events.

TIAS MBA programmes are distinctive through the "Frontiers of Knowledge" (conceptual knowledge driven) and "Project-based Learning" approach. For both the participant and the sponsoring company we offer a return on investment in terms of development and professionalism, a combination which makes our programmes extremely attractive.

Master of Business Administration (MBA) - Choice of Location and Formats

The TIAS MBA portfolio offers various MBAprogrammes:
A Full-time programme in Utrecht; Part-time programmes with different formats (weekly vs. monthly), different locations (Tilburg, Utrecht, Bonn), choice of degrees (Dutch and/or UK) and a distinctive focus of attention in the curriculum; and an international executive MBA programme (modular format, global residencies, dual degree).

The three programmes run in conjunction with Bradford University School of Management in the UK, one of the oldest and most respected business schools in Britain, include the Part-time MBA Utrecht, the Part-time MBA Bonn and the Full-time MBA also based in Utrecht.
Unlike a programme offered in the UK, however, you will experience the benefits of studying in a multi-cultural, English speaking environment in The Netherlands, at the crossroads of continental Europe.

The one year Full-time MBA programme is truly international with students coming from all continents of the world and an average age of 30, who engage in this international programme that is shorter in duration than most MBA programmes.

The two year Part-time MBA programmes in Utrecht and Bonn generally attract residents of The Netherlands or Germany with an average age of 33. Both programmes target motivated people from a broad range of managerial, professional and cultural backgrounds who are looking for an advanced general management degree. The programme is run weekly in Utrecht and monthly in Germany, -and starts in September of each year.

All MBA candidates have at least three years of work experience. On the Full-time programme we generally see students with five or six years of experience, on the Part-time programme they have an average of eight years of experience.

The monthly Part-time MBA Tilburg leads to a TIAS degree endorsed by Tilburg University and Eindhoven University of Technology. This MBA programme targets ambitious and talented professionals who not only want to speed up their professional career but also want to leverage their future employability. It is a global business MBA, flavoured with specific attention for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. A solid personal development process and leadership component form an integral part of the programme, which begins every year in September/October.

IMM, our world-class International Executive MBA is delivered in partnership with Purdue University in the USA, CEU Business School in Hungary and GISMA Business School in Germany. Participants in this modular programme meet six times over two years in blocks of two weeks at various locations in the USA and Europe, with currently one residency in Asia. Participants have extensive work experience, generally over ten years, of which at least five years in managerial positions of increasing responsibility. The average age in the IMM programme is 39 years.

I looked for an interactive programme that would stimulate me to think outside the ‘Asian box’. Of all the international programmes, I chose to study in The Netherlands for several reasons.

First, many multinational corporations’ global or European headquarters are located there. For me, this translated into an opportunity to apply and test my learning during an internship in the real business world. I learned that from the government, to enterprises and individuals, Dutch people really know how to market their country, their corporations and themselves.

And living in The Netherlands also meant a chance to explore the different European countries nearby. Even without travelling, at TiasNimbas Business School, half of my classmates were Dutch while the other half comprised students from 15 different nationalities. Our group-oriented class structure provided the ideal environment to learn from my classmates, both through school life and social life.

I chose TiasNimbas because the small-size class provided individual attention, while in other big scale business schools we might just be student numbers. Moreover, the unique block teaching system gave us not only academic knowledge, but also the additional lesson of time management.

I look back at a wonderful year at TiasNimbas. I graduated feeling more confident than before I started my journey. Looking forward, I know I have local friends in many cities around the world.

What would be your own TiasNimbas experience? I look forward to hearing your story.

“The Executive MBA has enabled me to enhance my analytical skills and understand how specific actions taken in one part of a company affect other parts of the company. I have already met many new people who will help me look at business issues from different angles.”

Previous position:
Tax Consultant, KPMG

Prior to TiasNimbas, I was a Tax Consultant at KPMG. I wanted to switch directions in my career and felt that an MBA was necessary to make myself marketable in a field outside of tax.

The timing was perfect, as I had worked long enough to learn the essential principles of working in a professional environment, yet I was not too far into my career that this switch would create a big setback.

In choosing a school, I looked for an academic environment where personal interests are recognized and strong relationships could be built with fellow students from diverse backgrounds, as I found this to be the most enriching aspect of my graduate experience at Columbia University.

I was therefore immediately drawn to the International Full-Time MBA programme at TiasNimbas, where great emphasis is placed on personal development.

You not only learn to become effective leaders, you also work to become confident, self-driven individuals. And as was my experience at Columbia, the small student-body size creates an approachable environment, where you find yourself amongst remarkable, talented individuals from all over the world who constantly challenge and expand your perspective.

"TiasNimbas caught my attention because of its personal approach and international orientation and the fact that it offers a full-time Master programme in only 12 months."

The city of Utrecht offers a wide range of cultural and leisure possibilities. The atmosphere at TiasNimbas is open, warm and social and inspired me during my studies.

We were taught to apply academic models into practice by working on our own case studies in groups or as individuals. This to me is one of the unique values of this programme.

Professors come from abroad and use a combination of presentations, videos and assignments during their lectures. My Master degree helped me to develop my personality, knowing my strengths and weaknesses.

My advice to new students? Evaluate your own needs and preferences. Come and visit TiasNimbas yourself. Staff and students will show you around and make you feel at home right away. I am pleased that I took my Master degree at TiasNimbas.

My diploma was an important take-away from the programme. But the people I met here will be invaluable to my future.
